Never forget to start from the app
The Kindred extension for Chrome notices when you are on a store in our list and offers to activate cash back for your family. It does nothing until you click.
Coming to the Chrome Web Store
Free for members once it is listed. Until then, open stores from the Deals tab in the app.

One small card, one click
It recognizes the store
On a store in our list, open the extension from the toolbar and click Activate. The first time, Chrome asks you to allow it on that one store. On any other site it does nothing.
It shows a small card
A card in the corner offers cash back for your family (signed out, it asks you to sign in or join free first). Close it and it stays away from that store for 24 hours.
You click Activate
The page reloads once through our partner link, so the store knows the purchase came from your family account. Your cart is not touched.
What it never does
- It never activates on its own, and never reloads or redirects a page without your click.
- It stands down for the browsing session after a creator or partner link. If another affiliate, creator or publisher sent you to the store, the extension stays silent on that store until you close your browser.
- It never reads the content of the pages you visit. It only looks at the page address, and at the address of the page that sent you there to spot another partner's link.
- It does not collect your browsing history. It only checks the site address against our store list, and only on store sites.
- It never sends coupon codes, changes prices or adds anything to your cart.
What Chrome will ask you to allow, and why
At install, Chrome asks only for access to our site. Each store is asked for separately, the first time you click Activate on it. Here is what each permission is for.
| Permission | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Storage | Remembers our store list, which stores you activated or dismissed, and which stores another partner referred you to. It stays on your device. |
| Access to our site | Downloads the store list and, if you are signed in, whether your account can earn, your family name and available balance. On a store page it checks your sign-in status (no page address is sent), at most every 10 minutes. |
| Access to a store site, when you click Activate | Asked once per store, the first time you activate there. Shows the activation card on the stores you allowed only. The extension can't run on sites you did not allow or that are not in our list. |
| Scripting and current tab | Adds the card to the stores you allowed, and lets the toolbar menu read the address of the tab you opened it on, to see whether it is a store in our list. Nothing runs on other tabs. |
The extension does not ask for the Tabs permission: it can only see the address of our own site, stores you allowed, and the tab you open the toolbar menu on.

Coming to the Chrome Web Store
The extension is being prepared for the Chrome Web Store. Once it is listed, you install it from there with one click, and Chrome keeps it up to date.
- Until then, open a store from the Deals tab in the app right before you buy. That tracks the purchase the same way.
- It will be free for members and will work in Chrome and other Chromium browsers.
We earn a commission from the store. You get 70% of it in your family balance; we keep 30%.
